Workshop in the Faroe Islands with Emmy nominated composer Miriam Cutler
In collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen, American Film Showcase (AFS), FilmHúsið Faroe Islands and FMX, we are delighted to announce a special workshop day in Torshavn, Faroe Islands, with American Emmy Nominated Artist, Producer and Educator Miriam Cutler.
Miriam’s C.V, is as diverse as it is deep, and the energy she brings to her projects, seminars and workshops are both contagious and inspirational. Miriam has scored over 100 films and television programmes, written songs for film and T.V. created music for circus and theatre projects, as well as recorded albums and performing live with a variety of acts. As educator she was resident at California Institute of Arts, oversees the Hollywood Music workshop in Vienna, and has presented workshops at USC, UCLA and Berklee College of Music, amongst others.

The workshop is one day long, and will take place Tuesday 30th November 2021. Participants will be asked to score a short visual piece in advance of the workshop, as a basis for the day that follows. The video will be sent from Miriam to participating artists, and will include a short pitch and brief, during the week of 27th September.
The basis of the workshop is story-telling through sound, and will explore the multitude of directions music and soundscape, can lead a visual. There will be further opportunity on the day, for participants to benefit from Miriam’s diverse knowledge and insight in to the world of music and picture.
This workshop is kindly sponsored by the above organisations, and free of charge to participants. However we have very limited spaces, and applications are invited between Wednesday 15th and 24th September.
