The Great Escape 2025 Proudly Announces Faroe Islands as Lead Country Partner
The Great Escape, the UK’s premier festival for new music, is excited to unveil the Faroe Islands as the Lead Country Partner for its 2025 edition. This announcement marks a significant collaboration with the Faroe Music Export, bringing a vibrant showcase of Faroese talent to the festival’s international audience.
This year’s partnership with the Faroe Islands promises to introduce festival-goers to a wider array of Faroese artists than ever before. The Great Escape has previously hosted standout performances from Faroese acts like Joe & The Shitboys (pictured), Aggrasoppar, Elinborg (pictured), and Brimheim. Now, as a Lead Country Partner, the Faroe Music Export will curate an extensive line-up that highlights the burgeoning music scene from these remote and mystical islands. Elinborg is the first artist to be announced to play TGE 2025 from Faroe Islands.
Glenn Larsen, Head of Faroe Music Export, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “The music scene in the Faroe Islands has blossomed recently, with our artists gaining international acclaim and touring globally. The quality and diversity of our music are extraordinary, considering our small size. After memorable shows and significant successes at previous editions of The Great Escape, we are thrilled to be this year’s lead country partner, and we are confident that our artists will deliver an unforgettable experience.”
Rory Bett, CEO of MAMA Festivals & VIP Nation Europe, also commented on the collaboration: “It is a privilege to spotlight the extraordinary talent emerging from the Faroe Islands. Their unique musical contributions have already left a mark on our festival, and we eagerly anticipate the full spectrum of creativity and artistry that will be on display this year. The Faroese showcase is set to enrich what promises to be another stellar edition of The Great Escape.”
The Great Escape 2025 is scheduled to take place in Brighton, offering a platform for hundreds of artists from around the world. The festival not only showcases the best in new music but also includes a market leading conference featuring key figures from the music industry, making it a vital hub for networking and discovering the next big thing in music.
The 2025 edition of The Great Escape will be held in Brighton from May 14th to 17th.
